Make it to the church on time

So you have chosen Significance as your wedding coordinator — but what’s next? Don’t worry about making it to the church on time; we shall work with you to plan ahead and keep your timescales under control, whether your wedding is in six months, in 12 months or more.

Naturally, we understand that you will have many ideas of your own and we will help you make these happen but, more than that, we will also be able to suggest elements you may not yet have considered.


Significance always ensures that the client makes all the final decisions and retains control, as it is your ‘significant day’.


Planning your perfect wedding needs careful attention. Significance can help you to:

  • decide on the type of ceremony (religious or civil); an intimate or large affair; guests numbers for ceremony and reception;
  • choose and book a suitable venue for the size and style of your wedding, whether a marquee at home, a grand venue for a large number, or somewhere smaller;
  • prepare your invitations and any other wedding stationery, eg order of service, menus, name places, with full project management, including copywriting to print production;
  • source the first night hotel room/bridal suite;
  • select the most suitable format for your reception. Book the caterer and choose menus;
  • decide on the style of flowers and amount of arrangements required to include bouquets, posies, buttonholes, venue and ceremony displays, and table centres — then book a suitable florist;
  • book entertainment or creche facilities for children coming to the wedding;
  • find and book a photographer and a videographer;
  • choose the type of music and entertainment for your ceremony, reception, and first dance;
  • book a knowledgeable and reliable cake-maker and order the cake, working with you to finalise the design and colours;
  • arrange a personal trainer for figure consultation and to oversee a fitness regime;
  • find a personal shopper to discuss colours and styles with you for the wedding and accompany you to choose your wedding gown as well as helping your parents, the groom’s parents and any others you know will appreciate personal attention to choose outfits;
  • arrange for a make-up artist and a hairdresser to come to your house;
  • book transport to and from the ceremony and reception for the bridal party and, if required, guests;
  • produce a timetable for the day.

Once you have set a provisional date for your wedding, Significance will start work with you. After our first meeting, we will devise an event plan for us to use in the wedding countdown. With extensive experience and understanding of what works and what doesn’t, Significance is able to advise on realistic timings for the wedding and can plan and coordinate the entire occasion — from concept to on-the-day management to ensure that all happens to time and plan.

However, as you may want to make some of your own arrangements, clients can request specific tasks for Significance to handle in the lead-up to the day such as supplier sourcing, venue booking, invitation production etc.

Suppliers

Significance has excellent relationships with many different suppliers but the company is just as happy to work with your preferred list.

Behind the Scenes

Relax, sit back and enjoy the run up to your wedding. Although you will make all the choices and decisions with us, Significance will take on all the time-consuming chores.

Keep yourself free from the hassle of administrative paperwork; save hours on web research, looking through brochures, telephoning suppliers, negotiating costs, writing confirmation letters, chasing up on emails. As your wedding coordinator, leave it to Significance.

For example, Significance will:

  • monitor the budget;
  • issue all confirmation letters;
  • keep a list of invitation replies;
  • confirm final numbers to suppliers at the right time;
  • issue an information pack to guests who are coming to the wedding to include directions to the venue, a local accommodation list, details of your gift list and any other relevant information;
  • prepare an itinerary for the day with all timings for the ceremony and reception and share with the bridal party;
  • supply you with a list of telephone numbers, such as a local cab firm, and all the suppliers that will be attending or delivering items on your wedding day eg cake-maker, florist, transport etc.

And if you want to marry abroad, working with you, Significance can undertake all arrangements for you and your guests.

Keeping a lid on the costs

Have confidence your budget will stay as agreed at the outset. Significance can help you be clever with your budget, negotiating on your behalf to create an event to remember fondly always. And if you want that ‘something extra’ costs for this are agreed in advance so you are always aware of the cost implication.

Transparency at all times on costs — no surprises

As each wedding is personal and individual, the management cost for Significance will vary. Our prices are competitive and all budgets are catered for. After an initial, no-cost, consultation meeting, a full proposal with costs (including the management fee) will be discussed and agreed between Significance and the client before any work commences. Significance will monitor the budget as the event progresses, keeping the client informed at all times. Costs are supplied in advance for any additional requests, which will be passed to the client for approval. We ensure transparency at all times, so there are no surprises when the invoice arrives.

Payment Terms

If you decide to use Significance then payment is required in three instalments for management time input as follows:

  • You will need to return a signed copy of a contract with a 40% payment of the total management fee
  • A further 20% of the total management fee is required one month after this date
  • The remainder of the total balance must be paid 21 days prior to the event

All travel expenses are inclusive for weddings taking place within a 50 mile radius of the office near Newmarket, Suffolk, excluding accommodation costs. Expenses for accommodation and travel costs for weddings beyond 50 miles will be charged to the client with an estimate provided and agreed in advance.

Significance will negotiate all costs for you and ensure you have visibility throughout the project against the budget you have defined. If there are any additional requirements, then these will be carried out with your consent in writing. However, any supplier invoices — for example, for the venue, for the caterer and for the photographer — are the responsibility for direct settlement by the client. Significance will request that suppliers send their invoices to the client.
